Well Hello handsome … 🙂
Well Hello handsome … 🙂
Today is my son’s last day of school before Christmas break.
I will love having him home the next two weeks, but the opportunity of this last “quiet” day is not lost on me. My “to-do” list is a mile long … personally and professionally, and today I intend to put a large dent in it.
As edits, Christmas cards, and final print orders are all wrapping up, I am looking forward to settling into a slightly slower winter pace. I will begin teaching my Spring semester course Creative Modern Portraiture mid-January, while maintaining a busy shooting schedule, and hopefully updating this web-site. I have entirely too many beautiful clients that I have yet to post! Many that will be kept off-line until after Christmas giving is through … 😉
One thing that this career has so kindly taught me, is how often we miss the blessings and beauty surrounding us. The noise and hustle of life can easily blind us to it. Watching my clients this year as they realize how beautiful they, and each of their family’s are … I am trying to write on my heart to notice more. Sometimes it takes a quiet room and an image, to see “what we are living” from a new perspective, but how wonderful if we can do so more often.
While it is quiet here … I hope that each of you have opportunity to “take it all in”, as you encounter the highs and lows of this time of year, finding peace and joy through the busy-ness.
Merry Christmas!
Ephesians 2:14 “For He is our peace … ”
Pictures (already taken, or arranged in the future) can be one of the most thoughtful gifts … 😉  I am clearly quite partial, but they are one of the few things one can give, that become even more precious and valuable as the years roll on.
I was contacted last year by three siblings, that wanted to gift their parents with an image of all of their children together for Christmas. During this extended family shoot, I was able to capture a few minutes of each family unit as well. The day we were set to shoot was cold and raining. I am quite used to shooting in almost any situation, but rain has to be one of the most challenging for everyone. Due to the full schedules of all of the families, we decided to give it a go, and the results were unique and beautiful … 🙂
This family was one of the three, that braved the less than ideal weather.
1:30am … Time to walk away from such a very long day of editing! Today’s work has spanned so many of life’s stages. Newborn, child/family, HS Senior, and extended family shoots with elderly great grandparents. Life is beautiful!!!
This 6 day old cutie is just beginning … 🙂
Last 2014 Senior! -beautiful fall weather and a stunning young lady … 🙂
